What is Vermeil?

Vermeil is classified among the precious metals alongside Gold, Platinum and Silver. More durable than “plated” or “gilded with fine gold”, it has many advantages.

It is a precious metal because it is composed exclusively of precious metals: a base of solid 925 silver, covered with 18 carat gold. The basis of "gold plating" is a common metal, often brass, which, unlike silver, degrades over time.
To attest to Vermeil, the “925” or “V” hallmarks are essential

To obtain the Vermeil designation in France, the layer of gold must be at least 5 microns, or on average 5 times thicker than for “gold plated” and “fine gold gilded” jewelry.

Unlike plated brass, Vermeil does not cause allergies and does not rub off on the skin.

Finally, Vermeil can be re-gilded endlessly. By taking care of it, you will keep your jewelry for many years. Vermeil is, however, not Gold: it is a surface treatment and requires more care and maintenance.

Deliveries

What are your delivery times

Upon receipt of your order, if your jewelry is in stock, we need 1 to 2 days to prepare it. Add to this between 2 to 3 days for delivery, via the Colissimo service of La Poste.

Allow one week to receive your jewelry. Do not hesitate to contact us for any special requests.

What are the delivery costs?

In mainland France, allow 10 euros for delivery with personal delivery.

Internationally, count 20 euros for Europe, and 35 euros for the rest of the world.

Do you deliver abroad?

Of course. We deliver everywhere. Shipping times and costs vary depending on the country of destination. Your package is delivered by hand.

What is your return policy ?

To limit too many trips back and forth and all that this may imply, do not hesitate to contact us with any questions about a piece of jewelry (its size, its shade, etc.) and to take a look at our size guide .

Also, know that our jewelry is artisanally made by hand. Therefore, there may be some (minimal) variations compared to the visuals of the website.

Exchanges are possible for collectible jewelry, in standard size (i.e. excluding custom orders, resizes, engraved jewelry, which will not be exchanged or refunded).

Regarding your jewelry, we ask you:

- to return it to us within 14 days following the date of the order

- to return it to us in perfect condition, unworn, in its original box

- to insert our return form, to download here .

On return, several options:

- we will give you a credit in the form of a gift voucher valid for 6 months

- we make an exchange

Please note that shipping costs for returns are the responsibility of our customers.

We remain at your disposal to offer you the best solution.

HOW ARE your jewelry packaged?

We offer a “gift” option. For 5 euros, we provide special attention with a beautiful organic cotton pouch in the Fine Jewelry colors, a thank you card, and a personalized message for the person for whom this jewelry is intended. Without forgetting the box and the certificate of authenticity.

Difficult to answer! Everything will depend on the complexity of it, the activity of Louise Vurpas and your availability.
